The 25MVA silicon-manganese furnace smelting process involves mixing raw materials such as manganese ore, silica, coke in proportion, and then sending them into a closed submerged arc furnace for smelting.
During the smelting process, reducing flue gas is generated at the top of the furnace and smelting slag is generated at the bottom of the furnace. Raw materials may also include manganese-rich slag, ferrosilicon, silicon slag and dolomite.
The batching link is very important and needs to be weighed and mixed according to the requirements of the smelting process.
25MVA Silicon-manganese Furnace Smelting Process
The smelting process of silicon-manganese alloy in smelting furnaces mainly includes batching, smelting, iron tapping, slag tapping, pre-furnace refining and slag treatment.
1. Raw material preparation:
The raw materials for silicon-manganese alloy smelting include: silica, manganese ore, coke, limestone, etc.
These raw materials need to be crushed, screened, batched, etc. for subsequent smelting.
2. Melting:
Add the prepared raw materials into a closed submerged arc furnace.
The raw materials are melted by electric arc heating, and a series of physical and chemical reactions occur.
At high temperature, manganese in manganese ore is reduced to metallic manganese, and silicon in silica is also reduced to metallic silicon, and combines with iron and other elements to form silicon-manganese alloy.
3. Iron tapping:
When the alloy liquid in the smelting furnaces reaches a certain level, the iron tapping port is opened to release the silicon-manganese alloy liquid.
During the iron tapping process, it is necessary to control parameters such as iron tapping temperature and flow rate to ensure the quality of the alloy.
4. Slag tapping:
Slag will be produced during the smelting process of silicon-manganese alloy, and these slags need to be discharged from the slag tapping port regularly.
Slag treatment is an important link in the smelting process, and improper treatment will affect the environment.
5. Pre-furnace refining:
After the silicon-manganese alloy liquid is discharged from the furnace, it is usually necessary to perform refining treatment before the smelting furnaces, such as deoxidation by blowing oxygen or adding silicon-calcium alloy.
The purpose of refining is mainly to remove impurities in the alloy, such as sulfur, phosphorus, etc., to improve the purity of the alloy.
6. Slag treatment:
The slag needs to be crushed, screened, etc. to achieve comprehensive utilization of resources.
Part of the slag can be used as building materials, and part can be returned to the smelting process.
Silicon-manganese Alloy Smelting Method:
Currently, there are 2 main methods for smelting silicon-manganese alloy:
Blast furnace method:
Using blast furnace as the main equipment, the manganese in manganese ore is reduced by high-temperature reduction process of blast furnace.
Submerged arc furnace method:
Using submerged arc furnace as the main equipment, the reduction is carried out by arc heating. This method has the advantages of high production efficiency and good product quality, and is currently widely used.
It should be noted that:
A large amount of dust and waste gas will be generated when smelting silicon-manganese alloy in 25MVA silicon-manganese furnace, and effective environmental protection measures need to be taken, such as installing dust removal equipment and waste gas purification equipment.
Different smelting methods and different raw material ratios in the smelting furnaces will affect the quality and production cost of silicon-manganese alloy, and it is necessary to select a suitable smelting scheme according to the actual situation.vvvvv

Ladle refining of refining furnace, also known as off-furnace refining, is a process in which molten steel, after primary refining in a converter or electric furnace, is transferred to a ladle for secondary refining. This process involves deoxidation, desulfurization, composition adjustment, and temperature control.
