Main Equipment Features of DC Arc Furnace Workshop
The electric furnace in the DC furnace workshop adopts a hollow single-electrode closed furnace type. The waste gas (the main component is carbon monoxide) generated in the production can be recycled. The smelting process is fully enclosed and slightly positive pressure operated, the gas generation process is continuous and stable, and the gas volume is only 10~20% of the open electric furnace flue gas volume. Therefore, the gas purification equipment is small, the combination is simple, and the purification operation is convenient.
The furnace cover of the closed furnace is a hybrid structure, using a water-cooled skeleton, with refractory concrete tied in between or paved with a water-cooled cover plate, and refractory concrete tied on the inside of the water-cooled cover plate.
The skeleton is made of steel pipes to reduce welds, and anti-magnetic materials are used near the electrodes to reduce eddy currents and hysteresis losses.
The furnace cover is in the shape of a cone, with electrode sealing holes and material pipe sealing holes installed on the horizontal plane in the middle, and sealed furnace doors with explosion-proof covers installed on the side walls to remove broken electrode heads and perform furnace maintenance. 1 to 2 chimneys are also installed to guide furnace gas into the dust removal system or the atmosphere.
In order to facilitate operation and maintenance and ensure safe operation, several covered peek, maintenance and explosion-proof holes are set on the closed electric furnace cover.
Several thermocouples are installed on the furnace lining at the bottom of the furnace, and the signals enter the computer for real-time monitoring and alarm to ensure production safety.
Electric Furnace Structure
The DC electric furnace is a fully enclosed submerged arc furnace with the structure of fully enclosed, hollow single electrode, and fixed circular furnace body. The electric furnace equipment is similar to the AC furnace except that the smoke hood uses a fully enclosed type and the gas sealing system uses nitrogen.

Ladle refining of refining furnace, also known as off-furnace refining, is a process in which molten steel, after primary refining in a converter or electric furnace, is transferred to a ladle for secondary refining. This process involves deoxidation, desulfurization, composition adjustment, and temperature control.
The Role of Ladle in Refining Furnace
