Water-cooled Composite Conductive Cross Arm Series

SR Conductive Cross Arm
The water-cooled composite conductive cross arm is a key component in metallurgical equipment such as electric arc furnaces. It combines conductivity, structural strength and efficient cooling functions, and is mainly used to support electrodes and transmit large currents.
The conductive cross arm is welded with copper-steel composite plates. The outer copper plate is responsible for conductivity (using the high conductivity of copper), and the inner steel plate provides mechanical support (bearing the force generated by the movement of the electrode) The interior of the cross arm is designed as a hollow box structure with a built-in water cooling channel. Cooling water (or water-ethylene glycol mixture) is introduced to reduce the working temperature and prevent overheating.

Application Scenarios and Technical Requirements

Arc furnace and refining furnace:

Mainly used in arc furnaces and ladle refining furnaces, assuming the functions of current transmission and electrode support.

Key parameter requirements:

It is necessary to meet indicators such as high conductivity (copper layer thickness optimization), fatigue resistance (steel layer strength design), and cooling efficiency (water flow and temperature control). For example, the cross arm length needs to be adapted to different furnace types, and the internal water cooling system needs to ensure long-term operation without leakage。

The water-cooled composite conductive cross arm solves the problems of high impedance, easy overheating, and complex maintenance of traditional conductive cross arms through material innovation and structural optimization, and has become a core component for efficient operation of modern arc furnaces. Its technical core lies in the synergy of copper-steel composite materials and the efficient heat dissipation of the water cooling system. There is still potential for development in coolant upgrades and system integration in the future.
