Ladle refining furnace is an off-furnace refining technology that uses electric arc heating under vacuum conditions. It mainly refines the molten steel from the primary refining furnace (arc furnace, open hearth furnace, converter), and can adjust the temperature of the molten steel, process buffer, and meet the important metallurgical equipment for continuous casting and continuous rolling. LRF Ladle furnaces is one of the main equipment for off-furnace refining.
Main Functions of Ladle Refining Furnace
1. LF furnace heats and keeps the molten steel warm.
The molten steel obtains new heat energy through arc heating, which not only allows the addition of alloys and adjustment of components during ladle refining, but also allows the addition of slag, which is convenient for deep desulfurization and deoxidation of the molten steel. Moreover, the pouring temperature of the molten steel required for continuous casting is guaranteed, which is beneficial to the improvement of the quality of dry casting billets.
2. Argon stirring function.
Argon is blown into the molten steel through the air-permeable bricks installed at the bottom of the ladle, and the molten steel obtains a certain stirring function.
3. Vacuum degassing function.
After the ladle is hoisted into the vacuum tank, a steam jet pump is used for vacuum degassing. At the same time, argon is blown into the bottom of the ladle to stir the molten steel, which can remove the hydrogen and nitrogen content in the molten steel, and further reduce the oxygen and sulfur content, and finally obtain a higher purity molten steel and a material with superior performance.
Application Field
The application of ladle refining furnaces can at least increase the following benefits for the entire enterprise: speed up the production rhythm and improve the overall metallurgical production efficiency.
LRF Ladle furnace is widely used in industry, steel, metallurgy and other industries.
Structural Features of Ladle Refining Furnace
- The LRF refining furnace mainly includes a ladle, a furnace cover, an arc heating system, a vacuum system and a charging device.
- Structure
- The water-cooled cover of the water-cooled furnace cover of the ladle refining furnace is set at the lower part of the water-cooled furnace cover frame;
- The lifting ring is welded on the main beam of the water-cooled furnace cover frame;
- The water-cooled plate is set on the flat table of the water-cooled furnace cover frame;
- The water-cooled structure of the water-cooled furnace cover is composed of a number of seamless pipes 1 arranged closely. Each steel pipe is round. The water-cooled furnace cover of this structure is not easy to leak and is easy to maintain.
The ladle furnaces 20T 40T 50T 70T 100T 150T, etc. produced and supplied by Sanrui Electric Furnace can greatly improve production efficiency, reduce maintenance workload, extend service life, and meet the production requirements of major steel mills for refining equipment outside the furnace.

Electric Arc Furnace Dust Recycling
Ladle refining of refining furnace, also known as off-furnace refining, is a process in which molten steel, after primary refining in a converter or electric furnace, is transferred to a ladle for secondary refining. This process involves deoxidation, desulfurization, composition adjustment, and temperature control.
